24th Annual AIDS Walk Los Angeles

Join over 30,000 participants who support, walk, or volunteer at this annual fundraising walkathon that takes place on the streets of West Hollywood and Los Angeles and benefits AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA) and other AIDS service organizations throughout Los Angeles County. Trees for the Future
Trees For The Future has been the steward of planting more than 50 million
trees throughout the world since 1988. Through a people-to-people action
plan, we restore tree cover to the world’s most degraded lands. Planting

and social development, preserving traditional livelihoods and cultures for

Animal Haven
Animal Haven is a nonprofit organization that finds homes for abandoned cats and dogs throughout the Tri-State area, and provides lifetime care to animals that cannot be placed. Founded in 1967, we operate a no-kill shelter in Flushing, Queens, and an animal sanctuary and rehabilitation center in Delaware County, New York, for special-needs and hard-to-place animals, along with our new adoption center in Manhattan. www.animalhavenshelter.org
Anza-Borrego Foundation & Institute
The Anza-Borrego Desert State Park®, comprised of nearly 650,000 acres
in Southern California, is one of the largest State Parks in the nation and
equal in size to all of California’s other State Parks combined. Since
its formation in 1967 to acquire holdings in the Park, the Anza-Borrego Foundation
has secured 35,000 acres for habitat conservation, historic preservation and
outdoor recreation. In 2003 the Foundation launched a new venture, the
Anza-Borrego Institute, to enhance knowledge about the region, foster responsible
resource management decisions, and inspire a responsible environmental ethic. The
Institute educates the public of the importance of conserving the land and
through youth programming, trains the next generation of land stewards. The
Institute is a public private partnership with California State Parks and the

Born Free USA
Born Free USA united with Animal Protection Institute (Born Free USA) works to alleviate captive animal suffering, rescue individual animals in need, protect wildlife — including highly endangered species — in their natural habitats, and encourage compassionate conservation globally. As part of the international Born Free family, we save imperiled wild animals from the global onslaught driving them to critical levels and protect the environments in which they live — whether it’s the elephants’ African savannah, tiger landscapes in India, or sea turtle nesting beaches in Israel. Our favorite “green” place is the lush landscape of our Primate Sanctuary in Texas, home to more than 500 primates, many of whom were rescued from grim conditions and now reside in a naturally enriched environment with minimal human interference.

Breathe California of Los Angeles County (BREATHE LA)
Breathe California of Los Angeles (BREATHE LA) provides meaningful programs and services that educate, empower and ensure lung health and a clean air future for children, youth and elders in Los Angeles County. BREATHE LA was established in 1903 and has over a century of accomplishment in lung health in Los Angeles. Eco-Cycle
Eco-Cycle is a non-profit organization founded in 1976. It made Boulder one of the first communities in the nation to implement curbside recycling. Now, Eco-Cycle has broadened its efforts — both locally and internationally — to pioneer the next revolution in resource conservation: Zero Waste. Focus the Nation
Focus the Nation’s inaugural event January 31st, 2008 brought together nearly a million Americans at 1,900 locations engaging 64 members of Congress, 15 Governors and countless local and state politicians in a discussion on solutions to climate change. Moving into 2009 and beyond, Focus the Nation is continuing to empower young people to accelerate the transition to a more just and prosperous clean energy future with community education events, sustained political engagement and support and development for youth initiatives like Project Slingshot, a partnership between Focus the Nation and Clif MOJO to propel create global warming solutions into action. Friends of the Urban Forest
San Franciscans rely on Friends of the Urban Forest to help them plant and
maintain trees for a more beautiful and healthy city. Since 1981, Friends
of the Urban Forest’s community-based tree plantings have literally
transformed San Francisco’s cityscape. In that time, Friends of the Urban
Forest has planted more than 41,000 trees — that’s more than all the trees
in Golden Gate Park — which represents over 40% of all the street trees in
the city. In addition to street tree planting and maintenance, FUF
operates an education program, which includes a youth project to pay and
teach teens tree care skills, and conducts tree tours and bi-lingual pruning

Green Ambassadors, a project of Environmental Charter High School, is an environmental education program that empowers youth to be agents of change in their communities and world. San Tan PRIDE
The San Tan Mountains PRIDE Association is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization
dedicated to creating a sustainable society, developing our youth with positive
role models, and educating the community in environmental care. The PRIDE
sponsors an annual clean-up event with hundreds of volunteers cleaning roadsides,
recycling appliances, tires, electronics, and hazard waste disposal. This
event unites the community while beautifying the area. The PRIDE also sponsors
horse trail rides for the TJ Pappas School children, and in 2006 erected
and dedicated the Nathan Martens Arizona War Memorial to honor all the Arizona
fallen heroes from the Iraq/Afghanistan war. The PRIDE initiated a
recycling program and continues working with the counties and municipalities
